Expanded States of Awareness

Modalities

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a unique therapeutic approach that utilizes non-ordinary states of consciousness to facilitate symptom relief, deeper insight, and reconnection. While KAP has shown significant research-based promise for conditions such as depression, trauma, and substance use disorders, it can also be a powerful tool for those seeking an expanded state of awareness that may facilitate a shift out of uncomfortable, "stuck" psychological states.

The KAP group model, offered through our partner Integrata, features a thorough process of preparation and integration to create a safe container for these profoundly expansive experiences. Individuals navigate a self-directed process of meaning-making, supported by skillful facilitation. During the session, participants lie on mats in a quiet, softly lit space, wearing eye masks to support inward focus. Facilitators remain present throughout, offering grounding and support as needed. We anticipate approximately four groups of 4–6 participants each with a 2:1 participant-to-facilitator ratio.

To prioritize safety and optimal outcomes, Integrata undertakes a thorough screening of participants considering this modality. The KAP process begins with virtual medical and clinical intakes (2.5–3 hours total) completed in advance. In-person, participants meet individually for medical check-in, then gather in small groups for preparation before the ketamine sessions and integration work.

Immersive Breathwork

Immersive breathwork sessions offer participants a direct pathway to expanded states of consciousness through guided breathwork, curated music, and facilitation. Each session begins with a 30-minute orientation, followed by a 45–60-minute breathwork experience, and concludes with dedicated time for integration and reflection.

Note: Breathwork may not be suitable for individuals with cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, pregnancy, or certain psychiatric conditions. Please consult your healthcare provider if you have concerns.

Sound and Light Immersion

Luminosity Group Therapy offers an immersive sound and light experience designed for guided meditation, sensory exploration, and experiential programming. Integrated audio-visual technology creates a responsive environment where lighting reacts in real-time to sound—capturing pitch, tempo, and volume to generate dynamic visual feedback that interacts with voices, music, or silence, deepening participants' contemplative experience.

Auricular Acupuncture

"Acudetox" auricular acupuncture strengthens and supports Yin energy, which tends to be depleted by trauma, stress, grief, burnout, anxiety, depression, irritability, and addiction. The technique involves placing five needles in each ear to stimulate points related to autonomic nervous system balance, sense of connectedness, kidney, liver, and lung.

Acudetox is provided in a group setting, which adds to its beneficial effects. Participants are in each other's presence without needing to interact. The atmosphere is calming and meditative. Participants remain seated and fully clothed. Once the needles are placed, they remain for approximately 30 minutes. Risks are minimal but can include lightheadedness, syncope, minor bleeding, and mild discomfort during needle placement. This modality is offered by our partner provider Integrata.
